Predictably, Drake picked up four American Music Awards
During a big night at the ‘American Music Awards’, Drake stirred up some controversy with a few choice words. Unlike Kanye West, Drake tends to keep his messages short and sweet. After giving shout-outs to UK artist Kyla, as well as Future and Fetty Wap, which he beat out for the Favorite Hip-Hop/Rap Artist award, he quickly ended his speech with “more chune for your head top so watch how you speak on my name, you know?" before every so slickly walking backstage.
Later, Drake would comment on DJ Khaled’s Instagram picture saying “Some bwoy need fi make some hit song and stop cry”. Some are quick to say that the combination of these two aggressive statements may be a response to Kanye speaking on Drake in his insane rant in Sacramento.
Though Ye’ never dissed Drake directly, he did point out the politics behinds some of Drake’s workings, specifically dealing with the song “For Free”, that DJ Khaled helped produce. This also could be an attack on Meek Mill, seeing that he did speak on Drake a bit in a recent podcast interview. Let us remember that Kanye warned us about “Power plays” in music, and this could easily be a power play by Drake.
