With the visuals for Miki Rose’s latest single having just dropped this evening at 6:00pm BST, it’s no wonder the track was called Wavy. If you’re new to the Brighton born RnB vocalist, this short 2:27 track will give you a great taste of her talent.
The track starts out with smooth reverb and reverse, followed by the warm hum of the bass. Rose’s layered harmonic vocals lead you into the song and the premise of “getting wavy” is made apparent not only lyrically, but instrumentally too. The production behind this track is a real standout for us, with Toolbox producing something that compliments Rose's sultry vocals so effortlessly.
The visuals go hand in hand really effortlessly with this track. The music video is edited together with a series of stylised 90s VHS cassette clips. Rose sings along to the track in different outfits to match the vibe of the visuals, with strong dark lipstick, slick pony tails and ‘sloppy joe’ jumpers being just a few of the looks she rocks.
All in all, Wavy is a simple blend of percussion, harmonies, and subtle phaser synth guitars which form a really lush tune, and the visuals impart the premise of the track perfectly. Catch Miki Rose on instagram for upcoming shows, and check out the visuals to Wavy below.
