Having recently been nominated for the Mercury prize award alongside artists such as Stormzy, Ed Sheeran, Sampha and many more . J Hus has finally released the stunning visuals for his latest single ‘Spirit’ highlighting the positive energy from his motherland.
Filmed in Jamestown, a small village on the coast of Ghana, J Hus expresses the hard times that he experienced. However, he still had the determination to persevere and never gave up on his dreams. “Even when we never had a penny, yeah, we always had spirit... They can bun my flesh, but they can't touch my spirit.”
J Hus clearly displays the importance of being humble and recognising how far you've come, whilst never forgetting where you came from. It's been a huge year for Hus and his indescribable sound, dubbed by fans and music lovers as Afroswing, and it will only get better, every track that he produces never fails to be visually appealing whilst sharing an unforgettable story behind it - the man produces anthems.
