Following the recent controversy surrounding Kanye West and his recent  TMZ interview, the artist has been invited to visit slave ports by a Nigerian Senator.

According to CNN, Nigerian Senator Shehu Sani extended an invitation to the artist after he suggested "When you hear about slavery for 400 years, for 400 years?! That sounds like a choice. Like, you was there for 400 years and it was all of y’all?” According to Sani, inviting Ye to the ports would enable the artist to “experience the choices in chains.”

The Senator sent the invitation via his social media accounts, stating “If Kanye West thinks Slavery was a choice, we will offer him a free ticket & tour guide to visit slave routes and camps in Badagry Lagos, Ouida Benin Republic, Ghana & Goree Island in Senegal to ‘experience the choices in chains’.” He added. “Kanye defecated on the graves of victims."

The comments follow a storm of backlash as a result of the interview, including from fellow artists including Snoop Dogg and Will.i.Am.
