Kris Wu Breaks The International Scene With 'Juice'

Canadian born Chinese actor and singer Kris Wu drops his breakout single from the upcoming xXx movie.

26th Jan 2017

Kris Wu is a Chinese born Canadian actor, singer and model. He achieved his first wave of fame as a part of the South Korean boy band Exo. In 2014 he left the group and made his debut as a solo artist and actor in China. On the acting front, he has his first English Language role coming up in xXx: Return of Xander Cage.

Kris has worked with brands such as Adidas Originals, Bvlgari and was chosen to be Mercedes-Benz’s brand ambassador in China. Not to mention he is Burberry’s first non-British global ambassador, announced as of November 2016. So for those of you who did not know, he’s kind of a big deal!

In this track called ‘Juice’, we see Wu debut a new electronica / Hip Hop style that will be featured in that new film. The instrumental takes inspiration from the Trap / Drill sound that is currently being pioneered in the UK and the US, and he does so to great effect. Two videos were shot for the track. The first was an edition for the film, and it features Kris and Vin Diesel in an underground car park. The second was an edition filmed by 88Rising. Drafting in model Lily Mae Mac for the video was an intelligent call, and the whole production shines a light on an emerging space for Hip Hop music in Asia. Have a look at the video, shot in two versions.
