Building up to the release of Uchis’ debut album, she has recruited Canadian singer Daniel Caesar, to hop on a remix of her popular single ‘Tyrant.’

In May 2017, Colombian songstress Kali Uchis released her single ‘Tyrant’ featuring British starlet Jorja Smith, having teased fans on Instagram with snippets of the track. Now she has recruited Canadian soul singer Daniel Caesar for the remix which now includes three of the most talented up and coming singers in R&B on one track.

Daniel Caesar is a singer-songwriter born in Toronto. Emerging from a musical background, he’s been singing for as long as he can remember, and his talent is evident in the consistent work he’s released. Caesar’s style varies from song to song, and he refuses to conform to any particular genre. Instead, he’s said his style has developed from what he’s been surrounded by, resulting in a hybrid of Rock, Soul, Gospel and more. With two great projects under his belt, the artist’s success continues to grow after recently being nominated for ‘Best International Viewers’ Choice’ at the 2017 BET Awards, as well as performing in front of thousands in Trafalgar Square to celebrate Canada Day London 2017.

Daniel Caesar shares a lot in common with American/Colombian singer-songwriter Kali Uchis, who’s created her own unique sound in the genre defying music she’s established on her EP, ‘Por Vida,’ released in 2015. The pair come together effortlessly on this new remix, formerly featuring British songstress Jorja Smith. Caesar’s short appearance blends perfectly with the energy of the song, the latin infused track delivers delicate sensuality and a blend of rhythms that can be enjoyed by music fans of any genre.

This isn't the first time the two have collaborated, the pair previously connected on Caesar’s passionate track ‘Get You’, where the pair's chemistry was prevalent. The song debuted on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio late last year. Since then, both artists have been relatively low-key, until Caesar returned with two new tracks earlier this year, and Uchis released her first single from the new album, ‘Tyrant.’

Kali Uchis’ debut album is expected to release soon, although aside from subtle teasing on the Colombian singer’s Instagram, a name and release date has yet to be established. In the meantime, fans can see her live, as she’s announced her first ever headline tour which will begin in August.
