Black Panther is a film that is building much anticipation.
Marvel released a teaser trailer for the film back in June. The trailer ‘broke’ the internet, as fans couldn’t get enough of the Black Panther. One of Marvel’s first black superheroes, made his big screen debut in Captain America’s Civil War blockbuster; since then fans have wanted to learn more about the leader of Wakanda.
For those who don’t know, Wakanda is a hidden nation in Africa, it being the most technologically advanced society, it holds an extremely valuable resource called Vibranium. Vibranium is used in Black Panther’s suit, making him one of the best fighters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The trailer takes place after the events of ‘Civil War’ and shows vivid imagery of the nation of Wakanda. As well as its futuristic technology, also seen in the teaser trailer. But in this extended clip, we are given the chance to see more of the star-studded cast; which includes: Angela Bassett (Who plays T’Challa’s/Black Panther’s mother), Forrest Whitaker, Micheal B Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, amongst many others.
The fast-paced fight scenes within the trailer also gives us a hint of the storyline. With Michael B Jordan being the antagonist: Erik Killmonger, we see elements of their ongoing battle that may be enhanced upon once we see the film.
What is interesting about this film is the tone Director Ryan Coogler has created with this film. The African imagery used through the costumes, colour palette and of course the inclusion of the black cast brings such a refreshing energy to the Marvel Universe and will be a great addition to the story they plan to create. This trailer shows great detail to the original Black Panther comics and we are excited to see what Ryan Coogler has done with this story.
