Pop icon Rihanna has revealed she will be releasing her very own make up line celebrating diversity.
Rihanna has added to her Puma Fenty collaboration by branching into make up, promising to cater to over 40 different shades. She follows the likes of celebrity icons such as Kylie Jenner who have gone into the lucrative business of make up by launching their own lines. In a published Instagram DM conversation, Rihanna said: ‘Gotta represent for my girls and we come in all shades…especially my brown sisters, been left out too many times in the makeup world.’
Rihanna’s campaign focuses on the diversity of women and features prominent women of colour in a sleek advert including models Halima Aden, one of few hijabi models and British beauty Leomie Anderson.
While there's not an official release of the full cosmetics line-up available from the Fenty Beauty, Internet rumours abounded after a Sephora employee said that the foundation would be available in an astounding 40 shades.
The line's collection ranges from foundation to lip gloss and is graced with cheeky shade names like ‘Chili Mango’ and ‘Trophy Wife.’ With this move, Rihanna continues to cement her place as a cultural icon with a positive message of championing diversity.
