Selena Gomez and Tory Lanez collaborate on ‘Trust Nobody’

Cashmere Cat plays matchmaker as the date of his debut album draws near.

29th Sep 2016

Cashmere Cat is going in for his debut album ‘Wild Love’ and is pulling no punches.

He made big moves earlier in the month by recruiting The Weeknd for his title track and he now has credits from pop titan Selena Gomez and hip hop riser Tory Lanez on a new track ‘Trust Nobody’. This is a much lighter collaboration with island vibes that echo much of Tory Lanez’s recent album ‘I Told You’.

These movements mark a significant departure for Cashmere Cat from his international electronic dance music roots. Over the past few years the producer has collaborated with the likes of Lana Del Ray, 2 Chainz and Jeremih and moved in a more soulful direction. His debut album is set to be released at the end of this year.

Mrs Gomez herself has also been working on her next album, and she lends most of the vocals here. Tory Lanez complements here on the the track with a response verse. Cashmere’s production is a product of the current moment. We got here first, but we won’t lie – this will most likely be a smash hit.

It’s been a good week for Selena Gomez. Yesterday she became the first celebrity to hit 100 million followers on Instagram, despite the fact that she has not made a single post since August. The 23 year old is reportedly ‘taking a break’ from public life due to the effects of lupus which she was diagnosed with earlier in the year. Some of the side effects associated with it include anxiety and depression.

She also has the most liked photo on the social media platform. With one particular photo attracting over 5.6 million likes across the world. This news indicates that she has more followers on the platform than fellow mega-stars including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian.
