Beyonce recruits Lauryn Hill’s daughter, Blackish actress Yara Shahidi and French-American model Sophie Koella for the Spring/Summer 17 edition of her Ivy Park collection.
Beyonce is having a good week. Yesterday she announced that she is pregnant with twins and she has now released a new Ivy Park campaign film that features some of the most exciting talent in the world. She has recruited Lauryn Hill’s daughter (Bob Marley’s granddaughter) Selah Marley, her long time collaborator SZA, Blackish’ Yara Shahidi and French American model Sophie Koella to show off her latest collection of black, peach and khaki green athletic wear.
Speaking to Vogue about the new collection, Selah Marley said “sports are usually only geared towards men, and [it is empowering] simply shining a light on the fact that yes, women play sports and yes, we’re also great at what we do. I love that it highlights that women are capable of anything and we can dominate anywhere we go.”
Shahidi added “Being physically fit not only helps you achieve a healthy lifestyle but for me, it connects spirit and body, it makes me more present. I love what Ivy Park stands for and how Beyoncé is using this line to highlight the beauty and power of our bodies and spirits.”
