Is he one of the best rappers of the new generation?
Mick Jenkins has been gaining fans across the world this year. Since the release of his album 'The Healing Component', he's been touring most of Europe with his collaborator Noname as part of his 'A Quest For Love' tour. He captured highlights of the tour in the video for 'Spread Love', perhaps the most popular song from the album. Also featured in the video are cameos from DJ Jazzy Jeff and Pro Era's Kirk Knight. The point of the song is reiterated, that we need to 'try to spread love on a daily', and do so without looking for approval from it. That's the central message of his recurring line "we gon' try to spread some love ain't nobody got to know". He says that "all that gold is overrated", what we need is love. I loved the video, hope you do to!
